Md. Abdus Sobhan is a senior development professional with more than 40 years of experience, mostly in International NGOs and UN agencies. He is with a proven track record in planning, managing and implementing various development projects/programmes in the areas of social safety net, agriculture and natural resources, water, sanitation and hygiene, disaster management and resilience building, food security, livelihoods, nutrition, poverty alleviation and rural livelihoods, women development, and school feeding/school meal. His last assignment was to support the Cabinet Division, the central ministry of the government of Bangladesh in implementing a WFP-assisted technical assistance project for more than five years.
Mr. Sobhan has an excellent understanding of current development trends and priorities of the world in general and the government of Bangladesh, in particular. He is well conversant with the National Social Security Strategy 2015, as well as the government policies, procedures, and protocols. He has proven experience in developing EoI, Concept Note and Project Proposals. He successfully operated several emergency responses within Bangladesh and accomplished two Temporary Duty Assignments in Georgia in 1994 and in Cameroon in 2016.
